There is no doubt that Amery is a talented artist. There is a reason his first single So Good made Buzzfeed's: 22 Songs You Need In Your April Playlist. You can read our first interview with Amery about that track and more, here.

Amery's follow up: I Need Lovin' is just as catchy even if the subject matter differs from the former.

The colourful artwork for this single is mirrored in the textures of the song which has a light summery feel to it. It sounds like a song which could easily slot in to commercial radio and receive heavy rotation; meaning it is easy to listen to and enjoy.

In the track, Amery bears his soul about the one that got away and says: "This song tells the story of that girl I let run away and the frustration of not gathering enough courage to talk to her". In a way, it reminds me of The Man Who Can't Be Moved by The Script as the subject matters are very similar.

You can definitely hear the MJ influence with the falsetto and the "oooooo" at the beginning which echoes those found in Don't Stop Till You Get Enough.

I cannot wait to hear more music from Amery and hope that an album is on the way soon... 👀

My advice? Don't sleep on this talented guy and groove to this track, yo. Add it to your Spotify playlist here or enjoy it below:
