Somewhere Soul Presents Boadi and Stella Talpo

There is always a gig to attend in London and it's one of the best reasons to live here. We're often exposed to great new talent on the live circuit.

WFA recently got invited to Somewhere Soul's first ever live event. These guys are all about sharing the best new music in "Neo-Soul, Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop & anything else dripping with soul."  So naturally, we had to head down to enjoy the certified vibes to unfold across the night.

Stella Talpo and Boadi were set to perform with DJ sets in between the acts to keep the energy of the crowd up.

First up, was Stella who really got people in a soulful mood with her chilled-paced songs. This was the first time we'd heard Stella live and we liked what we heard; she treated us with many of her tracks including her track "Girl" which has racked up nearly 300,000 streams on Spotify. We were even treated to a new song due to be released at the end of March. No doubt 2018 is definitely going to be an exciting year for her.

After Stella, we had DJ set which played the likes of Masego & FKJ's groovy "Tadow" to a bit of funky Anderson Paak. This set certainly helped keep the mood of the crowd ready for the show's next act....

Boadi is a really comfortable performer. He lets his talent do the talking by giving us those runs and beautifully-timed falsetto to have us closing our eyes and really take it all in. He performed some of our personal faves including his latest release: AwoMaa and The Feeling. Read our interview with him here and learn more about his plans for 2018 and his idea of success.

It's great when a song sounds exactly the same or even better live; so kudos to both Stella and Boadi for their strong performances. Also, shout out to their respective bands for being supporting each artist with skilful playing.

And last but no least, a huge thanks to Somewhere Soul for putting on this event; it was a huge success with everyone really enjoying themselves and we can't wait for the next one!
